The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is a 1930s British biplane designed by Geoffrey de Havilland and built by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. An estimated 7,800 Tiger Moths were manufactured for the RAF and other Allied Air Forces. Of these, 1,550 were built in Canada between 1937 and 1944. It was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and many other operators as a primary trainer aircraft. In addition to the type's principal use the Second World War saw RAF Tiger Moths operating in other capacities, including maritime surveillance and defensive anti-invasion preparations; some aircraft were even outfitted to function as armed light bombers. From the outset the Tiger Moth proved to be an ideal trainer, simple and cheap to own and maintain, although control movements required a positive and sure hand as there was a slowness to control inputs. Some instructors preferred these flight characteristics because of the effect of "weeding out" the inept student pilot.
This is Dancing Wings largest version of the Tiger Moth and is suitable for either Gas or Electric power. We recommend the NGH GF38 4-Cycle 38cc Gasoline Engine for incredible scale power and sound while sipping just pennies on regular gasoline/oil mix.
Constructed of quality lazer cut balsa and lite ply with fiberglass cowl and extensive hardware. The decals for the Australian aircraft depicted have not been applied but come on two huge decal sheets, so it will be easy to change up the aircraft's markings.
This is a beautiful model that will really turn heads at the field.
