Up for sale is my vintage Tamiya GEPARD tank (3) in good condition but needs some work to finish the model. The tank comes in partial operational condition but probably needs upgrading of the RC gear to a more modern type if it is to be fully operated. The sale includes the original RC gear that needs some extra work to get it up to scratch. I have gone through the instructions, step by step, to ensure that what I have included in the sale will bring the tank up to a standard when all the parts are there.
The tank’s condition: • The tank is assembled, painted with old RC gear. • The motor, gear boxes, clutch and drive train have been tested and work well. • The Transmitter (Old Futaba) has a rechargeable battery. The battery holds charge and is easily charged with the supplied charger. • The three original servos all operate. • The original mechanical speed controller works, but I can’t get reverse, it heats up and it slows the speed of the tank down. (I suggest replacement). • The original turret and radar motors and gears are all included but have not been wired up. • I can’t get the turret motor to work but the radar motor works fine. • The servo links, battery cases, switches and other electrical items are included. • The RC gear includes: o 1980’s (?) Futaba FP-6FN 6-channel transmitter with crystals o Futaba FP-T6FN receiver with crystal o 3 x Futaba FP-S16 servos • The rear radar hinges and lock have been repaired. • The two guns have been replaced with new parts • Missing parts include: • Missing parts include: o 1 x B5 mudflap (step 9). o 1 x H4 and H5 headlight (Step 13). o 2 x H21 mirrors (Step 17). o G7, 4 x H55 and H47 smoke cannisters on one side of turret (Step 20) o 2 x Whip antenna (Step 41). o The tank motor mesh in the hull is a loose fit. o Possibly other small parts that I missed in the rebuild.
