I have had this for a while sitting ready to be built in its original box. You can still see the $700 price tag on the box. The E-flite Carbon-Z Cub BNF Basic is a versatile RC airplane with a large 7-foot (2.1m) wingspan. Designed by 2007 FAI world champion Quique Somenzini, the Carbon-Z Cub features a rigid Carbon-Z construction and an AS3X system built into the included Spektrum AR635 receiver to provide a stable flying experience with crisp controlling. Its brushless power system offers powerful performance and aerobatic agility. The Carbon-Z Cub is also ready to be a tow plane for sailplanes with wingspans as large as 9.8' (3m) and can even carry a camera above the cabin for aerial photography applications.
A major part of what makes the aircraft so versatile is the control package included as standard equipment such as the digital, metal-gear servos, and slop-free ball-link hardware. Because the included flaps are functional, greater control at low airspeeds is possible in addition to the ability to significantly shorten takeoff and landing distances. Final assembly of the aircraft is required.
