This is one awesome floatplane and I will be sad to see her go but I have 3 floatplanes and can't fly them all.
The Modeltech Magic is a very light weight but strong 3D fun fly built with a rectangular wing and a thick symmetrical airfoil. It has massively oversized control surfaces making the model extremely agile and aerobatic, even with the extra drag of the fiberglass floats. It's low wingloading is not affected by the floats and she floats well on the water and floats extremely well in the air making landings and touch and goes an absolute breeze!
The floats can be removed and the original landing gear can be easily re-installed. The original Magic 3D did not come with a cowl but I have installed a matching fiberglass cowl to protect the brushless motor from any water splash during taxying. The fuselage is also sealed, preventing any water ingress.
The Magic 3D version 2 was designed for a 2 stroke 46 glow engine or an equivalent electric motor typically running a 4S Lipo.
The installed Himark C5020-670Kv brushless motor is equivalent to a 2 stroke 60 and can run off either a 4S or 5S lipo. This provides more than enough power for this model and she will cruise around quite happily and do nice lazy aerobatics on around 1/3 throttle. Open up the throttle and if your not careful you'll be in orbit soon enough!
