A classic design by Joe Bridi, his 60 size trainer was adopted by RCM as the RCM Trainer 60 and later the Great Planes 60 Trainer. The RCM 60 Trainer proved to be such a great aircraft, so it was adapted to make the RCM Trainer 40 for those who like their Sunday flyers in a smaller and more convenient size.
The RCM Trainer 40 has everything you're looking for in a trainer. It's a simple build, going together a bit like a classic "Stik" design, a thick wing design which is stable and will slow down for landing, but being symmetrical it will still loop, roll and spin.
Designed for 4 channels rudder, elevator, ailerons and throttle, the RCM Trainer 40 will fly well on any engine size from a 25 to a 49 two stroke.
We have modified the wing joiner area in both of the kit sets to include a plywood dihedral brace, which is a more accurate method of joining the wings than the original design.

The laser cut short kits include all of the shaped parts in balsa and ply which would normally require the builder to cut them from sheets. Items such as formers, wing ribs and other shaped pieces are all precisely laser cut. This leaves you to purchase only the sticks, spruce or balsa sheets you need to complete the kit, some of which you may already have on-hand.
All kits are proudly made in NZ! We hand select our wood stock for each kitset from the best Balsa Wood from Papua New Guinea and European Plywoods.
