The TANGO also known as the Omega 2, Magerllan [Icare ] has moulded carbon/kevlar Dbox with carbon reinforced trailing edge, ailerons and flaps; with the remainder being built up balsa ribs covered with transparent Oracover. The combination makes an incredibly accurate, light and stiff wing, perfect for indicating light lift, but also capable of taking full power contest launches. For weight distribution rudder/elevator servos are in the tail.….and of course the TANGO being European made has the reputation of having the best construction quality.
TANGO comes with flaps and ailerons so you can tweak performance in flight and use crow braking for landing. Sink rate is excellent for a 2 metre electric and with an extended speed range the TANGO can scoot between thermals when needed. The TANGO is a competition machine for ALES and F5J.
The modified MH32 means the TANGO penetrates better than most lightweights and the MH32 [mod] has vice free and predictable characteristics making it one of the nicest thermal sections. The MH32 [mod] can handle weight better than most, combined with a large and stiff carbon/kevlar fuselage the TANGO will take outrunners up to 6-800W.
If you don’t want a competition hotshot then the TANGO is quite happy to fly with 250W because of its overall 460g [kit] weight and huge 30.6 dm.sq. wing area. The modern quasi-elliptical planform has generous tips which means stable, predictable handling.
Nose takes a 40mm dia spinner.
