Kit contents:
- 1 Ultra bright 5mm Green 30000mcd intensity LED (for left wing) - 1 Ultra bright 5mm Red 25000mcd intensity LED (for right wing) - 1 Ultra bright 5mm White 40000mcd intensity LED (for nose, landing light) - 1 Blinking Red 5mm strobe LED (for tail, strobe light)
These are ultra bright LED's, 15 times brighter!!! than regular LED's and fully visible at daylight even from around 300ft away Low Power consupmtion won't affect flight time at all.
The kit is designed for the Hobbyzone Super cub but will fit any plane of around 50" wing span and 35" length.
Wing lights set and tail-nose lights set have separate connectors so you can easily disconnect it and take the wings off without having to remove the rest of the lights. Operation voltage is 7 to 10 Volts , Suitable for 7 and 8cell NIMH and 2cell Lipo. (Optimal results are achieved with 8cell NIMH) (DO NOT connect to a higher voltage power supply or it might end up buring out the LED's) The kit connects to the X-port or the battery wires of the ESC.
Connection options:
1) Plug and Play X-port (Recommended) for Super Cub and Super Cub LP
Disconnect X-port connector from the ESC/Receiver
Connect the kit to the X-port connector (connection pic)
2) Alternative connection to ESC battery wires (Mini Super Cub doesn't have X-port so this is the only method available for it)
You need to cut off the white x-port connector on the kits kit and follow the installation pics to connect it to the ESC wires installation pics
There is no need to remove the ESC/receiver from the plane, i had a spare ESC and it was easier to take the installation pics below, but it's not required
To make the little cut in Installation step 1 pic, take the wings off and pull the battery connector wires to get access to the wires. Working from the top of the airplane is much easier than trying to do the cuts from the battery compartment.
Make sure you DON'T connect the lights kit to the thicker motor wires, cause it will cause the light brightness to be proportional to the current throttle level on your transmitter
